Omondi Peter in 2016

INTRODUCTION.

I am a young Animal Scientist, Digital and Viral Marketer, a Graphic Designer,  a lifelong Scout, a  Rotaractor and the Founder - C.E.O of Global Youth Forum Kenya.

I am the first borne son and a second born child in a family of 6 children (Seline Atieno, Lilian Awino, Martin Oloo, Charles Ochien'g and Millicent Akinyi).

My upbringing by my Mum (Anjeline Awuor) and my Dad, (the late Lucas Omolo) - May his soul rest in peace - has given me conviction in my abilities, grounded in humility and Faith.

I am a proud Kenyan and a true son of Siaya County, my main goal is to contribute towards making the World a better  place by Empowering and Developing the Youth around the globe in all aspects of life (Education, Sports and Entertainment, Talent Development, Agribusiness, Youth Leadership & Development, Professional Development, Disaster Awareness & Preparedness, Basic Health Care & Management, Peace Projects, Environmental Projects).

My early years have shown me that money alone cannot be a source of happiness, but I firmly believe in great ideas that can lead to the creation of money as a tool that can be used for development of the World and make our Communities better than they were 30, even 10 years ago. To me it is those with great ideas that are rich and happy but not those with a complete focus on money. The two must work together at all levels and that why I am where I am today because of other people's belief in my potential and their sacrifices to sponsor me though my education and technical training.  Thanks to God for all He has done to me.

I am very dynamic, responsible, open minded, social, team player, a resource mobilizer, eager to learn and venture into new fields and keen to networking opportunities that will lead to the growth of my Country and the World at large.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND.

University Education (2010- 2014).

I am a graduate from the University of Nairobi College of Agriculture &Veterinary Sciences Animal Production Department (Animal Science Class -2014).  This is a Bachelor’s Degree Programme relating to the best practices, management, feeding, breeding and handling of all domestic animals in addition to the manufacturing and marketing of products and by-products.
The Course comprised of 62 units leading to the award of the Degree. I graduated with a Second Class Honours Upper Division.

Among the 62 Course Units I really loved was Agricultural Marketing & International Agricultural Trade.
This was a big challenge and one again I made it through Gods grace, care and protection. Thanks to Mum, Dad (RIP),

Extension Scout Project Programme Western Region & Timu Rafiki  2009 Great London South East County Scouts Council, Michael Hart, Jenny Hart ,Vicky Clare, Ben Richardson ( County Commissioner ) and  from Kenya Scouts Association, Dr Steve Foster, for supporting me all the way - I would not have made it this far without you. May God bless all of you in all you do. Since graduating, to Dr. Foster thanks so much for the work opportunities, skills exposure, mentorship, care and support, be blessed in all you do.

African Institute of Research and Professional studies 2008-2010

 Information Technology

I went to the above College immediately after completion of Secondary School exams as I had a passion for information technology and wanted to know much more about the computers and how they work. It was great learning opportunity as I got to know much about computer software and hardware systems. I learn both the Base Module (Computer Essentials, Online Essentials, Word processing, and Spread sheet) and Standard  Modules (Presentation, Using Databases, Web editing, Image Editing, Project Planning, Information Security, Online Collaboration and Graphic design). All this have been useful in my career at University and my daily actions and responsibilities. This platform has ultimately led to my certification as an ICDL Accredited Tester.

I went Simenya Secondary School in Siaya County. I did 8 subjects. (Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Kiswahili , History and Government and Christian Religion Education)

This was tough but I made it, thanks to Mum & Dad, Mr Francis Oriaro and  Extension Scout Project Program Western Region & Timu Rafiki  2009 Great London South East County Scouts Council.  I appreciate your support greatly and proud of all of you (Gavin, Ben Richardson, Michae (Skip), Jennie Lesley, Vicky Clare, Jo Heart, Tamsin Langley, Caroline,  Edd, Nikki, Luke Verall  and Lucy).

Kenya Certificate of Primary Education 1993 - 2003.

I went to Sikan'g Primary School in Siaya County, where I scored a mean grade of a B- (Minus) that secured myplace at Secondary School for further studies. Thanks to my teachers ( My nursery teacher Madam Elizabeth, Class one Teacher. Mrs Mudhune, Science Teacher Mr. Oduor (RIP),Kiswahili Mr. Aha Omondi - RIP, English Teacher Mr. Ochanda - RIP, Maths teacher (Mr. Okola). All that shaped me to face the challenges of the world and be a change agent. It gave me the determination to be a Good Scout. 1. Congratulations on the compilation of your Profile, Peter ! It reads like a real " This is Your Life " script - and indeed you've achieved a great deal already from your High School days in Siaya. I wish you every success in the forthcoming YALI Course in Nairobi and 'good luck' in the continued development of Global Youth Forum. You're a very positive influence on all you meet and a real man of action - a true Scout - Bravo !

  2. Peter you are a natural leader. If the above description of your personal profile has to be distilled down to one single element, that one element would be your personal motivation, the most important factor in determining the extent to which you are committed to do what needs to be done to achieve the desired results. Successful people are focussed on building sustainable careers through hard work. They enjoyed the journey, despite the obstacles, because they are doing something that has a meaning in their lives. Wish you continued success

I am Not Who They Thought I was

BEGINNING What do you do at age 6 - 12 years when..... 1. You have no access to food and go without it for 2 - 3 days? 2. Love football and want to enjoy the game but no football field or a balls to use? 3. Your family cannot afford to pay for your Secondary School fees and you are forces to stay out of school for one year? These questions described my childhood but it all happened for a reason, the best I could be for my neigbours was a cobbler and nothing else. To them I could not even make it to a secondary school as no one in my family had made it beyong form two. Despite passing my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education scoring 312 marks, no efforts were made to enroll me to a Secondary School. As they say the Lord had plans for us even before we were born, I made it to Secondary School and later to University. How I left Nakuru County and travelled to my rural home in August 2004 only to be invited to a Scout Camp in September 2004 where I was connected to a Sponsor (Gavin ...
